I Believe In A Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo

"Desi Lee knows how carburetors work. She learned CPR at the age of five. As a high school senior, she has never missed a day of school and never had a B. In fact, she's a known disaster in romance, a… Continue reading I Believe In A Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo

The Unexpected Everything Review

Even though I tend to gravitate towards fantasy books, sometimes I need a nice, cheesy contemporary YA romance. I usually struggle with this because I feel like this certain genre can be quite predictable or just way too dramatic. Even so, sometimes contemporaries surprise me.

Kissing Max Holden Review

“After his father’s stroke, Max Holden isn't himself. As his long-time friend, Jillian Eldridge only wants to help, but she doesn't know how. When Max climbs through her window one night, Jill knows she shouldn't let him kiss her. But she can’t resist, and when they're caught in the act by her dad, Jill swears it'll never happen again. Because kissing Max Holden is a terrible idea. With a new baby sibling on the way, her parents fighting all the time, and her dream of culinary school suddenly up in the air, Jill starts spending more and more time with Max. And even though her father disapproves and Max still has a girlfriend, not kissing Max is easier said than done. Will Jill follow her heart, and allow their friendship to blossom into something more, or will she listen to her head and stop kissing Max Holden once and for all?”

My Lady Jane Review!

Just saying I read a historical fiction novel makes me feel so proud because that category just sounds so bland. I don’t think I’ve ever had a steady relationship with historical fiction since I was always so focused on fantasy. Because of this, I think I liked My Lady Jane so much because the authors took quite a few liberties with the historical part and threw in some magic so that this was my kind of book.

The Hero and the Crown Review

I doubted this book because it’s such a short novel and while I liked that there was a dragon on the cover, I just kept thinking that a story written in the 2000’s wouldn’t be good for some reason. I know, I know! It’s such a silly notion since I try to read older books that I might have overlooked throughout the years but that thought kept lodging into my brain. I’m glad to say that I was happily mistaken!

Uprooted Review

This is my second attempt at reading “Uprooted” by Naomi Novik. The first time I saw this book, I was completely attracted to the cover so I just had to pick it up. I read the inside cover and I knew down in my bones that this was my kind of book! Wizards, an evil forest, something about a dragon? And oh yeah, it has Grimm fairytales vibes! Hell yeah! Except my bones led me astray

Tiger Lily Review

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson is a retelling of the classic novel Peter Pan. However, the main focus is the blooming relationship between Tiger Lily and Peter Pan so this story is different but also familiar in some ways. I only ever watched the movies on Peter Pan (never got around to reading the book) but the basic story was something I was familiar with. In this novel you still get your lost boys, pirates, mermaids, and fairies but all of these things are described with a sense of danger and seriousness.

Enchanted Book Box Review

Alright so this was my first time purchasing from Enchanted Book Box. I've been meaning to test them out since the box is located in California and I love supporting businesses from my area! In addition to that, it's a small company plus the box design is completely stunning and has been calling to me for ages so I finally decided to spoil myself a bit while also supporting small businesses! I received the June #Bookstafame box so if you ordered that one don't read this!! I'll be posting spoilers!
